Practice Policies
Appointments
We operate an appointment system in the practice. Please phone to make an appointment.
We require a 10% deposit when the appointment is made. This is non-refundable in the
event of non-attendance. Please let reception know if you require a longer appointment time
for your visit.
Out of Hours Cover
EDOC is located in Carew House at St Vincent’s University Hospital and provides cover
between the hours of 18:00 and 08:00 Monday to Friday, and covers 24 hours at weekends
and Bank Holidays. Attendance is by appointment only and house calls are provided if
deemed necessary,

Telephone Calls
If reception is able to assist you in your query it will be dealt with immediately. Otherwise, a
message will the taken and passed on to the doctor.

For clinical and administrative efficiency, we kindly ask patients to keep email
correspondence brief and limited to straightforward, non-urgent matters such as
appointment requests, prescription queries, or administrative questions.

For complex medical concerns, new symptoms, urgent issues or matters requiring
detailed discussion, please arrange a consultation rather than sending multiple or
lengthy emails. This helps ensure that your concerns receive the appropriate level of
attention and care.
Repeat Prescriptions
Please phone or email the surgery to request a repeat prescription. Please give the surgery
48 hours notice to ensure your prescription will be available from your pharmacy or ready for
collection from the surgery.
Housecalls
Most problems are best dealt with in the practice where software and equipment are in
place. However, if you have a situation that you feel warrants a home visit please phone the
surgery to discuss.
Accounts/Bills
Appointments are payable following your visit to the practice. The fee payable is at the
doctor’s discretion. For your convenience we accept cash and most credit and debit cards.
We also provide services that are covered by the major Health Insurance Providers in
Ireland, You will be advised if the service you require is covered by your Health Insurance
Provider.

We understand that illness, stress, and frustration can be difficult; however, abusive,
threatening, aggressive, discriminatory, or disrespectful behaviour towards any
member of our staff will not be tolerated. This includes behaviour in person, by
telephone, email, social media, or any other form of communication.
